I formed and began operation of Advanced Transmission Operations in 1973 in Ontario, California at the age of 22. I relocated the business from Southern California to Rancho Cordova, Ca in 1980 and I am still rebuilding transmissions and redeveloping new transmission components to date.

With all the technological advancements & changes throughout the years, I am in the process of designing and building the state-of-the-art transmission dyno which will be finished near the middle of 2014.

Prior to opening Advanced Transmission, I began as an apprentice for Tony Rossi of Rossi Racing Transmissions in Ontario, Ca in 1967, at the age of 17. Working under the leadership of Tony, with the street performance and drag racing transmissions, it laid the groundwork for my career of transmission rebuilding which later developed into designing of transmission components for drag racing, off road competition and high performance.

Today, I am still in the business of redesigning components and presently with the design of the new Full Manual Valve Bodies for the C-4 and the 4L80M Drag Racing and Off Road Competition. I also designed and built the test dynomometer for testing these new Valve Bodies, all of which is in the final stages of completion.

Known for my pride of keeping a very clean and organized shop, the epoxy floors rarely see oil, grease or fluid for any amount of time. I have been told by several customers and friends, that if they had to have any surgery, they wanted to have it performed in my shop.
The same pride goes into my transmissions and components. They come in dirty and go out looking like they have never seen the road, inside and out, and built to my perfection.

Please take the time to view my photo gallery, and I invite you to come in and see my shop and what I do.
I think that you will be impressed.

From 1975 through 1995, I was featured in several National Magazine’s for the redeveloped and modified transmissions, from the Torque Flight 727 for Off Road, to the “Bull Dog” Turbo 350 for Street & Strip and Off Road Vehicle’s, and my development of one of the first Competition C-4 Transmission with a transbrake for Competition Drag Racing and also the C-6 Transmission with a transbrake.

In 1990, Super Stock Magazine featured the article of my development of the first Drive Unit for the Linco 2-Speed Transmission and the B&J Transmission. It was developed for Reed Christenson’s Super Comp Firebird for a test car, which featured a complete hydraulic transmission that incorporated a Torque Converter to eliminate the use of a clutch, and to improve consistency. It also incorporated a Transbrake and a Build In Safety Clutch to prevent any chance of locking up the rear wheels in the event that the engine failed. Also featured, was the article on the Hultsman Brothers, who’s Super Stock cars were National Winners and Record Holder’s; their cars were equipped with my ATO Competition C-4 Transmission with a Transbrake.
